Monday 20th

I think this will be the last of the pictures in this series until i can do another bunch of pictures from york photo.  my next series will be far away things in the landscape.  my goal is to make the mountians or whatever look very far away.  :) wish me luck!

i haven't posted in 2 weeks!  i guess i have been a little busy.  i have done 3 paintings since, and have worked out 3-4 more on paper.  it seemed i had got to a stopping point with the photographs i had to work with, but then i realised i had to rework sketching them to make them better.  i also ran out of panels to paint on.  i think if i work 'till the end of the month, i should have 9 more paintings besides the ones i have already painted.  this would make 16 paintings total.  i think i will end the series i've started probably next week and start a new series, but i don't know what kind of landscape series yet.  when i see my paintings in person i am proud of them.  but other places like in pictures i'm not sure the full effect of them is captured.  so that can get me discouraged.  i'm not sure how to get the full effect in pictures yet.  i'll keep that problem on the back burner.  i like that i paint.  i try not to critique right after i paint.  while i'm painting i do make decisions like adding a cloud, or using a different color, but still constantly evaluating good color or bad color, need fixing or not, move on, or go back to a part on the painting.  but once i'm done i sign it and try not to look too much at it.  its like it looses its flavor for me if i see it too often.
on my goals i made last post: getting up earlier has been a challenge.  i'm sure everyone can relate to that.  thus, i'm thinking of taking back that goal.  i have been working on composition. :) i have been reading about painting and taking notes.  i put some clouds in a painting and then wanted to know how to do them better.  still working on the quotes for the wall. :)

whoo hoo!

31st, Tuesday- i did some errands, needed some liquin, bought a brush half off, stopped at the library to return some books, went to devotional with my hubby.
1st, Wednessday- i painted.

 2nd, Thursday- i painted.

 3rd, Friday, today i painted.

bla bla bla:
ok now my new goals are to get up earlier so i can start painting sooner.  wed. and thurs. were overcast days so there wasn't as much light coming through my window by the time i started painting.  i had to use warm indoor light instead of outdoor light more those days.  it is harder to know if your colors are right or good in warm or cold light.
i'm not sure if i want to do any more in this series.  we will have to see.  i may want to work a little more on composition and color.  i am pretty proud of my trees and showing distance in the paintings.  i look at them and i say, they are not perfect. :(  but i am excited to be practicing painting, and i believe with determination and habit i will become better.
tomorrow, saturday i think i will read up more on painting landscapes and the rules associated with them.  i think i will put more planning in composition and color.
some time i will line these paintings up for one picture to see them complete together, they are just a little wet, thats also why i just hold the frame up to them instead of putting them in the frames.

sum it up: i am proud of my paintings although they are not perfect.
goals: get up earlier, work on composition, read up and take notes on rules and procedures of landscape painting.  make a wall of painting quotes.
